Serge Tiroche Contemporary is a unique art platform where a storied family legacy meets a forward-looking vision. For over three generations, the Tiroche family has played a pivotal role in shaping Israel’s art market while also engaging on the global arena — from founding Israel’s first galleries and its leading auction house, to expanding in the US and Europe with galleries, international dealerships, and an art fund dedicated to building world-class collections while championing emerging artists.
Over the years the family has supported multiple cultural institutions in Israel and internationally, raised funds for numerous charities via the sale of art from the family collection and donated funds to build the free public Tiroche amphitheatre on Hapisga Park in Old Jaffa, where cinema screenings and concerts are held regularly for the public's enjoyment and enrichment on a hilltop with the most beautiful views of the Tel-Aviv coastline.
Carrying this heritage into the present, Serge Tiroche expands the reach to the global stage, bridging underrepresented geographies with the wider art world through projects such as the ST-ART Incubator, the Artist Pension Trust, the Tiroche DeLeon collection and more recently Africa First.
Guided by a belief in art’s power to connect cultures and inspire dialogue, we curate experiences, build collections, and foster collaborations that transcend borders.
A second-generation collector, curator, entrepreneur, financier, and art fund manager, Serge Tiroche has spent over 35 years immersed in the international art world. After obtaining his MBA from INSEAD, he also served as Managing Director at Citi Private Bank from 1997 to 2007, running the wealth management business in Israel and Turkey. With good timing, he decided to leave banking in 2007 and dedicate his professional life to bridging his two passions for art and investments. His mission has since been to broaden access to collecting and engaging with art, while supporting emerging artists globally.
He began by founding START, Israel’s first incubator for artists, curators, and collectors; went on to chair the Artist Pension Trust; to co-found Art Vantage PCC Limited, home to the Tiroche DeLeon Collection, a pioneering art fund focused on contemporary art from developing markets; to launching Africa First in 2017, a private collection and support platform dedicated to advancing contemporary African art.
Serge continues to reimagine collecting as a catalyst for cultural exchange and social impact. His new showroom in Jaffa, housing over 400 works, serves as a vibrant hub for dialogue, study, and engagement with art.
