Serge Tiroche’s participation in the exhibition builds on the vision behind the Tiroche DeLeon Collection, founded in January 2011 together with Russ DeLeon. The collection was established as a platform for in-depth, large-scale exploration of contemporary art from developing and emerging markets.
Through this initiative, Tiroche has focused on acquiring significant works by leading contemporary artists from regions including Southeast Asia, fostering long-term engagement with artistic practices beyond established Western centers.
This approach culminated in a pioneering collaboration with ART STAGE Singapore, presenting a dedicated selling exhibition of Asian contemporary artworks acquired at ART STAGE Singapore fairs between 2011 and 2016, curated by Serge Tiroche.
The exhibition highlights artists from countries such as Thailand, the Philippines, China, Indonesia, and Singapore, with a particular focus on Indonesian contemporary art. Works by Heri Dono, Eko Nugroho, Agus Suwage, Gatot Pujiarto, Entang Wiharso, I Nyoman Masriadi, and J. Ariadhitya Pramuhendra reflect the depth and scope of this ongoing engagement.
