Ilya Medvedev (b. 1981) is a contemporary artist and educator based in Basel, Switzerland. Working across large-scale oil painting, drawing, photography, and site-specific installation, his practice explores the human body, classical artistic traditions, and the psychological dimensions of the human condition. His works often combine academic approaches to figuration with a raw, expressive visual language.
