In his work Eduardo Basualdo researches limits; the beginning or the end of a physical element or psychological condition. In this context, he is especially interested in intermediate states or the barrier of an element, which distinguishes it from another. In Ame et Esclave, Basualdo drew 9 ropes which have been unraveled down to last string. The moment of breaking, the loss of the original strength of a rope, has been captured and multiplied towards an abstracted image of tension and fragility.
