The subject matter is strongly influenced by his violent childhood in Uzbekistan and in Israel as a new immigrant, where he arrived when he was 7. Art has always been Artur's way of escaping reality into his own world of fantastic imagery, composed of multiple fragments of memory.
As a rebellious student in Art school he had much difficulty getting through the first years, but eventually got recognized in his final years and graduated with honors. He studied drawing, painting, sculpting, photography and video and continues to draw, photograph, sculpt, and create video installations.
