Nontutuzelo I, II and III
Nontutuzelo is my mother’s name. It is loosely translated as ‘comfort’. I refer to these artworks as veils. The artworks are long and delicate. I use white, gold, black, and silver beads because I want to evoke the spirit of a particular moment or to unveil experiences that exist in memories that were once all of life and gradually grow much vaguer.
