Born and works in Harare, Wilfred Timire went to Peter Birtch School of Art for his early art education. His work is inspired by his mentor Gareth Nyandoro and leading Zimbabwean artist Misheck Masamvu. Timire is one of two winning artists of the artHARARE Prize - a collaboration between artHARARE and Africa First. The Prize aims to benefit emerging and mid-career artists working in Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwean diaspora by increasing their profile and giving them international exposure.
