Images have a tendency to hide or be hidden in family albums, in the storage of our smartphone devices. Often, when such hidden images emerge their appearance is altered, changed, or filtered. This work explores a filter as a way of disguising an apparent figure or form. The work also points to ways filters can be weaponized, which is true of camouflaging a filter used for military gear. This work suggests that digital filters used to alter images are militarised weapons that attempt to ambush any subject.
