In this body of work, Nourse explores materials and how they can work together in abstraction. This is a practice of the artist trying to allow her hands and eyes to take over without overthinking every minute detail. There are times for spontaneous paint throwing or quick sketch-like stitching and times of more contemplative beading and attaching. The pieces are capturing the moods in which Nourse makes them.
