Paula Elion (b. 1973, La Plata) is an Argentine-Israeli multidisciplinary artist based in Stockholm. A graduate of the Midrasha School of Art at Beit Berl, she works across painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, mixed media, and digital art.

Elion’s experience of moving between Argentina, Israel, and Sweden is central to her practice. She approaches art as a form of cultural translation, examining how images acquire new meanings as they pass between languages, places, and personal histories. Drawing from family albums, children’s stories, films, old photographs, and social media, she explores memory, immigration, familial relationships, gender identity, and the representation of women within patriarchal societies. Her materials range from paint and paper to textiles, dried flowers, discarded objects, and aluminium foil.

Elion has exhibited internationally in Israel, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Serbia, Mexico, Argentina, and the United States. Her solo exhibitions include Every Mother Needs a Girl, Secrets and Lies, Controversial, and Fun Fair. She received Israel’s Ministry of Culture Prize for Independent Artists in 2019 and is a member of the Detroit Stockholm artist collective.
