Nava Aizescu
Nava Aizescu (b. 1980, Brazil) is an Israeli-Brazilian artist who lives and works in Tel Aviv. After moving to Israel in 1989, she studied fine art at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. Working primarily in painting and photography, Aizescu draws inspiration from the architecture, streets and everyday life of Tel Aviv particularly the city’s Bauhaus buildings and the lively environment of the Levinsky Market.
Her paintings transform familiar urban scenes, figures and objects through bold color, simplified forms and an imaginative, sometimes dreamlike atmosphere. Moving between observation and fantasy, Aizescu presents the city not merely as a physical setting but as a space shaped by memory, emotion and personal experience. Her work has been exhibited in Tel Aviv, including at the artist-run Nulobaz Cooperative Gallery and the Bauhaus Center.
