Shay Id Alony
Born in 1974, lives and works in Tel Aviv.
Shay Id Alony’s practice emerges from an in-depth exploration of personal, cultural, and figurative spheres, expressed through sculpture and installation. His work centers on the representation of ritual energies and on symbols relating to strength, challenge, belonging, and at times, humiliation.
Alony holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of Haifa, following earlier studies in interior design and architecture. This multidisciplinary background is evident in his creative process, which consistently investigates the relationships between body, object, and space.
His works expose the relationship and dialogue between the object and the user, the human quality and ambient of the environment, creating a new synthesis. The works representation of power and vulnerability.
